Hidde Boersma is a freelance publicist and documentary filmmaker, with a PhD in soil microbiology. He writes for a variety of national and international newspapers and magazines, including De Volkskrant, De Groene Amsterdammer, Al Jazeera, mainly on agriculture, biotechnology and ecomodernism. He co-wrote 5 books, including Ecomodernisme (2017), Meer (2020) and Over Eten (2020). His films include Well Fed (2017) on GMO’s, and Paved Paradise (2023), on land use. He is a four time TEDx-speaker. and is the co-founder of the techno-optimistic NGO wePlanet, now active in 18 countries. He also founded Stop the Foodfight, an organisation that aims to build a bridge between the different narratives on the future of food.
